Dr. Richard Yai
Hello, I’m Dr. Richard Yai. I am truly honored to join Dr. Ackerman’s team as an associate dentist. Born and raised in Fremont, California, I am genuinely excited about the opportunity to serve this amazing community.
My journey in the dental field began with a degree in molecular cell biology from UC Berkeley in 2008, where I also pursued a minor in music. Later, I earned my DDS degree from Loma Linda University in Southern California in 2013—a place that, coincidentally, Dr. Ackerman also calls his alma mater!
What drives my practice is a patient-centered philosophy; I am committed to treating each individual as I would my own family and loved ones. It’s important to me to deliver high-quality dentistry through conservative treatment plans while ensuring a comfortable experience for all my patients. I am looking forward to working alongside Dr. Ackerman in the office approximately two to three days a week. This will enable us to expand patient appointment opportunities while always ready to assist and answer any questions you may have!
I feel fortunate to join a practice with a tradition of exceptional care and look forward to serving your dental needs while building long-lasting and trusting relationships with both patients and colleagues.
I initially planned to pursue a career in professional golf, but the sport has now developed into one of my favorite pastimes. In addition, I enjoy playing basketball, table tennis, and strumming the guitar during my leisure hours. I’m happily married to my wonderful wife, Cherie, and I’m incredibly enthusiastic about practicing dentistry here in Northern California.
